The pit and the pendulum

In the pit of my stomach, the pendulum swings
From left to right to other extremes
From anger to Guilt, to shock to denial
Every swing hurts of the swing of the dial

From the why to the how? To every expression
The pendulum swings from bargaining to depression
It hangs from your heart and goes to your head
The pain is so bad you want to be dead!

Faster it swings and you fear it won’t stop
At times it's so fast, you fear you might drop
The tears flow and the thoughts run away
With memories repeated on constant replay

In time the pendulum will no longer swing
Like the seasons, Winter will soon become Spring.
The pain will go but the memories remain.
Until you feel loss and grief, and it starts again.
